Pricing & Estimates
How much does junk removal cost?
Junk removal is priced by volume — how much space your items take up in the truck. Not by the hour and not by item count. Your Team Captain gives you a firm quote on-site before any work begins. No hidden fees, no trip charges, no fuel surcharges. Book online to save $20. Learn more on our How Pricing Works page.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. Every estimate is free, on-site, and no-obligation. Your Team Captain walks the job, sees exactly what needs to go, and gives you a firm price. No work begins until you approve it. We never price from photos — we believe in seeing the job first.
How much does a full truckload cost?
A full truckload typically runs $600–$800 or more depending on what's being hauled and where. Most residential jobs require a half to full truckload. A full truck holds roughly 9–10 pickup truck loads worth of junk. We provide a firm on-site quote before any work begins.
Are there any hidden fees or extra charges?
No. The price your Team Captain quotes is the price you pay. No trip charges, no fuel surcharges, no labor fees for carrying items from inside the home, and no surprise charges after the fact. What we quote is what you pay.
Do you charge extra for stairs, heavy items, or hard-to-reach spaces?
No. Whether your items are in an attic, basement, second floor, or detached shed, the labor to carry them out is included in the quote. We don't add extra charges for stairs or difficult access.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, all major credit cards, debit cards, and checks. Payment is collected after the job is complete — never before.
How do I save $20 on my junk removal?
Book your appointment online instead of calling and you'll automatically save $20 off your estimate. You can also text photos of your items to help us prepare for your appointment.
Scheduling & Process
How do I schedule a junk removal appointment?
Three ways: book online (saves $20), call us, or text us a photo of what needs to go. We give you a two-hour arrival window and call when we're on the way.
Do you offer same-day junk removal?
Yes. Same-day service is available when our schedule allows. We operate from three locations — Warren, Boardman, and Twinsburg — so we usually have a crew nearby. Call to check availability.
How does the process work?
It's three steps. First, you schedule an estimate — we give you a two-hour arrival window. Second, your Team Captain arrives, walks the job, and gives you a firm upfront quote. Third, if you approve, the crew handles all the lifting, loading, and cleanup. Most jobs are done in a single visit.
Do I need to be home during junk removal?
If we have access to the items, you don't need to be on-site during the job. If access is restricted — inside a locked home, garage, or gated area — someone 18 or older must be present for the walkthrough and to approve the estimate. Once approved, many customers leave while the crew finishes.
Do I need to move items to the curb?
No. We carry items out from wherever they are — attics, basements, tight stairwells, garages, backyards, detached sheds. You don't need to move anything ahead of time. That's the whole point of full-service junk removal.
How far in advance should I book?
We can often accommodate same-day or next-day appointments, but scheduling a day or two in advance gives you more flexibility on timing. For large estate cleanouts, booking 3–5 days ahead is ideal so we can allocate the right crew and truck.
Will you clean up after the removal?
Yes. Our crew sweeps up and tidies the area after hauling. We don't leave debris or mess behind.
How long does a typical junk removal take?
Most residential jobs take 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on volume and access. A single piece of furniture might take 15 minutes. A full estate cleanout might take a full day or require multiple visits. Your Team Captain will give you a time estimate along with the price.
What We Take (And Don't)
What items do you take?
We take almost anything non-hazardous — furniture, appliances, mattresses, hot tubs, TVs, electronics, exercise equipment, yard waste, construction debris, drywall, lumber, fencing, shed contents, scrap metal, and bulk household junk. If it's not hazardous and you need it gone, we can probably take it. See our full list on the Junk We Take page.
What items can't you take?
Ohio regulations prohibit us from hauling hazardous waste — including asbestos, motor oil, paint, solvents, propane tanks, biohazardous materials, and any liquids. If you're unsure about a specific item, call us and we'll tell you directly.
Can you remove a hot tub?
Yes. Hot tub removal is one of our most common requests. We break down the spa on-site and haul it away. We're careful around decks, fencing, and landscaping.
Do you take construction debris and renovation waste?
Yes. We haul drywall, lumber, flooring, tile, roofing, concrete (small amounts), and other construction debris. This is common after kitchen and bathroom remodels, basement renovations, and demolition projects.
Can you remove appliances?
Yes. Refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves, dishwashers, window AC units, and more. We disconnect (if accessible) and haul away. Appliances are recycled per Ohio disposal guidelines. See our Appliance Removal page for details.
Do you remove yard waste and brush?
Yes. Branches, brush, storm debris, dirt, and other yard waste — especially when municipal pickup won't take it or the volume is too large for curbside collection.
Estate Cleanouts
How does an estate cleanout work?
We work with families, estate attorneys, and realtors at whatever pace the situation requires. We can handle everything from a single room to an entire home. We sort for donation and recycling where possible and can coordinate around your timeline. See our Estate Cleanout Services page for more details.
How much does an estate cleanout cost?
Estate cleanouts are priced by volume, just like all our junk removal services. A single-room cleanout is typically less than a full truckload. A whole-home cleanout may require multiple truckloads over one or more days. We give a firm quote after walking the property — no surprises.
Can you work with estate attorneys and realtors?
Yes. We regularly coordinate with estate attorneys, realtors, property managers, and family members. We can work around showing schedules, closing deadlines, and family timelines. Many realtors in our service area use us repeatedly for pre-sale cleanouts.
Do you handle hoarding situations?
Yes. We approach hoarding cleanouts with care and without judgment. These jobs often require multiple visits and a more careful sorting process. We work at whatever pace is needed and coordinate with family members or social workers when appropriate.
Donations & Recycling
What happens to my items after you take them?
We sort every load. Usable furniture and household goods go to local charity partners like Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and St. Vincent de Paul. Appliances and metals are recycled separately. Only what can't be reused or recycled goes to the landfill. See our Donation Pick Up page for more.
Can I get a donation receipt for my taxes?
Yes. If your items are donated through one of our charity partners, we can provide a donation receipt — typically within 14 business days. Receipt availability depends on item condition and partner acceptance. Let your Team Captain know you'd like a receipt before the job starts.
Who are your donation partners?
Our primary donation partners include Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, St. Vincent de Paul, and the Animal Welfare League. We route items to whichever partner can accept them based on condition and type.
Do you recycle appliances and electronics?
Yes. Appliances, metals, and electronics are recycled through certified facilities per Ohio disposal guidelines. We separate recyclable materials from every load.
Service Areas & Locations
What areas do you serve?
We serve more than 30 cities across Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania from three locations — Warren (Trumbull County), Boardman (Mahoning County), and Twinsburg (Summit County / Greater Akron). See the full list on our Service Areas page.
Do you serve Pennsylvania?
Yes. We are licensed and insured in Pennsylvania. We serve Hermitage, Sharon, and surrounding areas in Mercer County from our Warren location.
Which phone number should I call?
Call the location nearest to you: Warren & Trumbull County: (234) 600-3317. Boardman & Mahoning County: (330) 980-9007. Twinsburg & Greater Akron: (216) 223-7234. All three numbers reach our team — we'll route you to the nearest crew.
How quickly can you get to my area?
Most of our service areas are 10–20 minutes from one of our three locations. We give arrival windows and call before we arrive. Same-day service is often available depending on scheduling.
About Express Junk Removal
Is Express Junk Removal a franchise?
No. We are family-owned and operated — not a franchise. Express Junk Removal was founded in 2011 by Nicholas Stanko, a Youngstown State University graduate, and is still run by the same family today. Learn more on our About Us page.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We are fully licensed and insured in both Ohio and Pennsylvania. Every crew member is a direct Express employee — not a subcontractor or day laborer.
How long have you been in business?
Since 2011 — over 15 years. We started with one truck in Warren, Ohio and have grown into a three-location company serving more than 30 cities across Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
Do you offer dumpster rental?
Yes. For larger multi-day projects — renovations, estate cleanouts, or construction jobs — some customers prefer a dumpster rental over full-service junk removal. We offer both options.
What's the difference between junk removal and a dumpster rental?
With junk removal, our crew does all the lifting, loading, and hauling in a single visit. With a dumpster rental, we drop a container at your property and you load it at your own pace over several days. Junk removal is faster and requires no labor on your end. Dumpsters are better for large, multi-day projects. See our Us Vs Dumpster comparison.
Do you offer commercial junk removal?
Yes. We handle commercial cleanouts for offices, retail spaces, warehouses, storage units, and rental properties. We work with business owners, property managers, and contractors across our service area.
